Too good a job

Much of British infrastructure was created during the Victorian period, and has fallen into disrepair. The lack of public and private sector investment in new buildings leaves the UK in a poor competitive position relative to the world's great economic powers.

Several of the UK's northern cities, such as Glasgow and Manchester, are growing economically, while the economies of London and the southeast remain stagnant. Central government authorities should grant local agencies more power to boost investment.
