Paying the piper
Article Abstract:
The Hong Kong government has finally decided to allow the establishment of a pay television (TV) market in the British colony. The government's Recreation and Culture Branch has set conditions for the granting of licenses to companies interested in entering the country's pay TV market. The move came two years after the government and entrepreneurs started talks on the establishment of a pay TV system in Hong Kong. Would-be operators are given until the end of 1993 to set up their pay TV systems.
