Article Abstract:
Mitsubishi Electric Corp. (Melco) manufactures two Doppler weather radars, each operating either in the S-band or C-band. The two models have been designed for precise real-time observation and detection of low-level windshear in the neighborhood of an airport. The C-band radar has been provided to Osaka Kansai International in Japan, while the S-band radars have been supplied to Changi International in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur-Sepang International in Malaysia. The Malaysian deal is for the supply and deployment of the meteorological subsystem, which backs a total airport-management system supplied by the Sapura Tomen Harris consortium.
