Towards a theory of determining size in multi-objective service systems
Article Abstract:
A proposed queuing system for determining the optimal size of a batch system by an objective function is based on the efficiency measure defined by the expected weight of two specified standards. Assumptions are made on the distribution function of each factor and their interrelationships. Results show that sensitivity analysis performs well in this aprticular environment. The weight of the non-utilization weight and the system's optimal size are directly related.

DEA and the discriminant analysis of ratios for ranking units
Article Abstract:
The Discriminant Data Envelopment Analysis (DR/DEA) of Ratios model is derived. The model provides common weights for all organizational units that discriminate optimally between the efficient and inefficient units pregiven by the DEA for the ranking of all units on a single scale. A sample application of the DR/DEA is discussed while comparisons between the DR/DEA and DEA results showing good agreement.

An integrated model for the development of marginal water sources in the Negev Desert
Article Abstract:
A mathematical optimization model for the development of scarce water sources in Israel's Negev Desert is presented. The model is used to address the dual problem of water supply allocation at the regional level and the optimal development approach for local marginal water sources. The relationship between local and regional levels of decision-making is investigated using the model.
