UK: CONFLICT OVER CRITICAL ILLNESS INSURANCE
Article Abstract:
The UK's PIA Ombudsman is to issue a decision on a test case involving John Hill, who was informed by Skandia that he was not covered by the terms of his critical illness policy when he developed cancer. MrHill is considering legal action against Richard Bertin, the IFA who sold him the policy in 1994. Skandia is in disagreement with Mr Hill's consultant surgeon over whether the cancer, which Skandia maintains is skin cancer, is covered by the terms of the policy.
