UK: Hedge funds underperform
Article Abstract:
Hedge funds have underperformed since the mid-1990s, according to research undertaken by Allenbridge Hedgeinfo into the performance of 2,200 single and multiple-manager hedge funds. It was found that single-manager performance fell between 1996 and September 2001. However, investors remain attracted to hedge funds because even an average hedge fund will probably perform better than a good unit trust.
