UK: NETDOCTOR TO LAUNCH SERVICES

On 1 February, the Danish firm NetDoktor.com launches its services in the UK. The company is the largest provider of a doctor's web site in Europe, and has already been established in Denmark, Germany and Austria. One of the most well-known doctors in the UK, Hilary Jones, who is known from the breakfast TV programme GMTV, is the feature editor of Netdoktor.com's "Ask the Doctor" service.

SCANDINAVIA: SOL HAS BEEN AWARDED A CONTRACT

Scandinavian Online (SOL), the Norwegian-based Internet portal, has been awarded a DKr 12mn (USD 1.6mn) contract by Active ISP, the Norwegian Internet company. This is SOL's first contract which involves all three Scandinavian countries, says MD Kirsten C Ideboen. It includes advertising services at SOL's Internet portals in Norway, Denmark and Sweden.

DENMARK: NEWSPAPER TO SUE INTERNET PORTAL?

Sondagsavisen, the free Danish Sunday newspaper, has threatened to sue the Internet portal Shopsiter if Shopsiter doesn't remove its link to retailers which also are connected to Sonderavisen's Internet site. Sondagsavisen claims that the retailers are framed by Shopsiter.
