UK: NORTH AMERICAN FUND FROM SG ASSET MANAGEMENT
Article Abstract:
SG Asset Management will introduce the SocGen American Growth unit trust, a North American fund in mid-June 2001, provided it obtains regulatory approval. The new product will be a retail version of the SocGen US Equity fund, its institutional fund. The annual charge will be 1.5% and the start-up charge will be 5.25%. Commission for independent financial advisers will be 3% at start-up. The fund, covering no more than 60 equities, of which the technology component will be no more than 20%, hopes to beat the S&P 500 index. A Chartwell independent financial adviser, Patrick Connolly, recommends the investment.

LUXEMBOURG: SEI TO LAUNCH NEW FUNDS
Article Abstract:
Scottish Equitable International (SEI) plans to introduce two Luxembourg-based fixed income funds on 4 June 2001. Investments in bonds with AAA to BBB credit ratings will be made by the UK corporate bond fund, to be benchmarked against the All Stock index from UBS Warburg. The fixed income range is being extended due to high demand for SEI's GBu 20mn short-term bond fund, with the company seeking to separate the original fund's corporate bonds and short-dated gilts to produce a clearer income yield.
