UK buyout players counting the cost of success
Article Abstract:
The highest value buyout in 1997 was the 860 million pound sale of IPC Magazines which showed how high values were being obtained by equity houses. The UK venture capital market is cautious as to how much higher valuations will continue to reach, with many claiming the chance to overpay on market value is becoming a more realistic possiblity. High risk factors could lead to greater difficulty in obtaining financial backing for such ventures. Some firms have found investors less willing to put money into deals where such large sums are involved.
