U.S. presses the EU to end loans to Airbus
Article Abstract:
At a meeting with European Union negotiators in Brussels, U.S. trade representatives have asked that the EU discontinue its subsidies to the French aircraft manufacturer Airbus S.A.S. European officials, however, are reluctant to make such a change unless the U.S. consents to withdraw financing it provides to aeorspace and defense company Boeing Co. The sticking point in the negotiations is that neither the U.S. nor the EU believe that the financial support they are providing constitutes a subsidy.
