Article Abstract:
The case of Payne v Setchell deals with the issue of whether a subsequent owner of a building has a claim in tort against a negligent builder order designer for the cost of repairs. Setchell was found liable because it certified that the building's foundation was sound.

Article Abstract:
The judges of the Technology and Construction Courts (TCC), where most of the construction cases are tried, do not enjoy the coveted title of High Court judge due to which many construction barristers are discouraged in taking up the job, leading to a decline in the TCC's reputation. Hence, interim changes are introduced to increase the involvement of more High Court judges in the work of the TCC.
