Verkauf von Landmaschinen steigt
Article Abstract:
Sales of farm machinery is expected to increase by more than 20% to US$ 1.9bn. Growth is driven by higher prices for agricultural products, the VAT exemption of farmers and increasing exports. Sales are expected to grow from 21,000 units to about 25,000 units. The stock of farm machinery is outdated. About 40,000 tractors should be replaced, but only 15,000 were sold in 1997. About 15% of the 54,000 harvesters are older than 20 years.

Einfuhr von Landmaschinen gedrosselt
Article Abstract:
Imports of farm machinery to Israel fell by 33% to US$ 22.49mn in 1997. Due to a lack of finance, Israel will in 1998 again not be able to buy farm machinery required. About 70-80% of the farm machinery stock is older than 10 years. There is not only demand to replace farm machinery but also to use cost-saving and environment-protecting machinery. In the farm machinery sector, Israel depends on imports to a degree of 80-85%.
