Virgin Media weighs a takeover approach

UK cable operator Virgin Media Inc. has announced it has received a takeover offer and will begin a strategic review of it. Although the bidder was not named, it is believed that US investment firm Carlyle Group L.P. made the approach. The buyout package including debt could be worth approximately $20 bil.
