Visa Canada, with the help of its advertising agency, M Marketing Services, has won a 2000 Canadian Promo! Gold Award, for topping the Most- Effective Long-Term Campaign category with its 'Visa Great Reservations' promotion. The campaign, launched in May 1999, offered cardholders a two- for-one, value-laden dinner and participating restaurants assorted Visa merchandising materials. It was created to increase user activity of VISA Gold and VISA Platinum cards in fine dining establishemnts and encourage restaurants to position VISA as the preferred point-of-sale credit card.

MasterCard Canada has launched its Canadian 'Priceless' television campaign featuring Jamie Sale and David Pelletier, Canada's reigning pairs figure skating champions. The commercials debuted on Nov 2, 2000, during CTV's opening night coverage of MasterCard Skate Canada International. The campaign, conceptualized by ad agency, McCann-Erickson Worldwide, aims to leverage MasterCard's sponsorhip of figure skating in Canada and shows its support for the Sale-Pelletier pair.
