Vitkovice heads for Greece

Vitkovice (Ostrava, Czech Republic), metallurgy and engineering company, will probably become the general supplier of a waste disposal plant in Greece. The plant, which will dispose unsorted civil waste, should be built at a cost of 280 mil USD in Salonica, Greece. The project's construction jobs should be started in 2H 2000 and should be completed in 2003. Vitkovice will declare tenders for the supplies of concrete technology for the plant for Czech and foreign firms.

Vitkovice with a loss for 1999

Vitkovice (Ostrava, Czech Republic), metallurgy and engineering firm, saw a loss of more than 10.4 bil Kc for 1999, according to audited results. The company saw a profit of 100 mil Kc in 1998. Vitkovice's proceeds totalled 10.7 bil Kc in 1999. According to an audit of Deloitte & Touche, Vitkovice's results for 1999 were negatively influenced by the global recession of metallurgy and engineering production connected with a decrease in the prices of the products.

Vitkovice Prodeco prepares for contract in China

Vitkovice Prodeco (VP) (Teplice, Czech Republic), power equipment supplier, will enter the Chinese power market in 2001. VP will prepare itself for a large contract worth 1.5 bil Kc in 2000. The contract will include a supply of technological units for a mining and power complex in Northern China. The contract should be arranged in 2001. The contract's supplies should be completed by 2005.
