Vivendi's net jumped 29% in first half

Vivendi SA posted an improvement of 29% in its net profits for the first-half of 1999. The company also said that it will develop activities on the Internet with Canal Plus SA. French-based Vivendi posted 782.8 million euros in net profits for the period. During the same period in 1998, the company reported 605 million euros. Vivendi's revenues also rose by 22% to 18.2 billion euros.
