HEADY SEASON AWAITS INDIAN GRAPE EXPORTERS
Article Abstract:
Indian grape exporters are expected to have a good season in 1999 as the country has a good availability of 14-16 mm grapes. Maharashtra is expecting substantial volumes of grapes of good quality and grape exports are likely to reach the same levels as last season. European buyers usually buy the 18 mm variety but they have compromised and are sourcing the smaller variety from Chile. India can cash in on exports after exports from Chile are exhausted as the Indian season began late and is expected to continue for some time. (khr)
