Zodiac manufactures shirts and ties. It plans to focus on the local market from 2000 AD. Now, it has a network of 2,000 multi- brand stores and 75 Zodiac showrooms. It derives nearly 90 percent of its earnings from exports to Europe and USA. Zodiac holds monopoly in the tie market. Zodiac ties cost Rs300-2,195. Zodiac is also India's largest shirt manufacturer. It recently launched Terry Asher, a new casual wear. Zodiac's shirts cost Rs500-995 and contain over 50 percent of imported material. Zodiac is also one of the top 10 shirt producers in the mid/premium segments globally. It has been having a compounded annual growth rate of 20 percent and has a high brand recall among consumers. KERALA TO SET UP FIVE SEA-FOOD PROCESSING CENTRES
Article Abstract:
Kerala plans to set up facilities for sea-food processing at five fishery centres across the state with the participation of state and Central agencies. The Kerala Infrastructure Development Corporation and the Marine Products Export Development Authority will sign a memorandum of understanding on December 31, 1998 for setting up the first project at Arur in Alapuzha district. The Seafood Exporters Association will also participate in the Arur project, which is expected to cost Rs10 crore. (khr)
