This article discusses the dealings of Bruce Wasserstein with Dresdner Bank and Allianz AG. Mr. Wasserstein, who had sold his merger-advisory firm to Dresdner, planned create an autonomous and potentially publicly traded investment bank. Allianz AG has acquired Dresdner Bank and has no plans create such an entity.
