Wealth won't shield Japan from debt
Article Abstract:
Japan's status as the world's largest creditor nation would not shield it from internal financial disarray. Moody's and Fitch ICBA have already stripped Japan of its triple-A debt rating due to its domestic financial deterioration. Despite its huge positive balance, this position is not a source of economic strength due to Japan's smaller net balance and the delays in implementing the massive economic restructuring that it badly needs.
