Article Abstract:
Two trends in US TV have emerged from a presentation by networks to the TV Critics Association. One trend is that Irish products have become fashionable, and there are four new shows with distant fathers, long-suffering mothers and a minimum of one policeman. A second trend is that extreme sports are fashionable. These sports include kickboxing, surfing and martial arts, and the aim is to attract male viewers aged between 18-years-old and 34-years-old. One program in this mold was described as a revenue stream rather than a show.
