What to wear for Salzburg
Article Abstract:
The Salzburg music festival, Austria, ended on Aug 29. The artistic director, Gerard Mortier, is to leave his post in 2001, and a replacement has yet to be found. The festival has become controversial and experimental under Mortier and there are some critics who seek more harmony and consensus. Private sponsors are still attracted to the festival, and festival-goers have become more adventurous. The festival's board is seeking a new artistic director who is open to innovation, and modern and experimental music.
