Many governments around the world are taking steps to privatize, but the privatization efforts in the UK have politically hurt the Conservative government. One lesson other countries might learn from the UK is the advantage of eliminating monopolies, rather than trying to regulate them.

The UK government would profit from the sales of some of its vast supply of government buildings and facilities to private parties. These include hospitals, military facilities, and industrial buildings. But they should be sold gradually so as not to depress the real estate market.
