British soccer authorities are negotiating with the BBC and British Sky Broadcasting (BSkyB) for a new television contract for the 1993 season. Under the proposed contract, BSkyB would acquire the rights to most of the nation's live soccer events, while the BBC would show highlights and cup matches.
