Allegro con brio
Article Abstract:
Classical music performers have to compete with recorded of old masters that have been cleaned up. Marketing is geared toward past performances and crossovers to attract a new audience to classical music. Some niche specialists are performing well, and they include ECM and Harmonia Mundi. These companies focus in a market of core enthusiasts which tends to be neglected by larger firms. Budget discs are also selling well, with Naxos a strong performer in this field.
