Ethiopia's food production has increased as a result of market-friendly policies introduced in the 1990s, but the risk of famine remains. Ethiopia will only escape the threat of famine if it has more secure land tenure and better roads which would encourage small business creation.

Will they ever go home?

The war in Yugoslavia has displaced close to a million people. International organizations are helping the refugees, who are not starving, but are uncertain whether they can ever go home. Frontiers may end up being redrawn as refugees settle in their own ethnic republics.

Zero inflation: how low is low enough?
Article Abstract:
Inflation has dropped to about 3% in most countries, and some of them believe that a zero rate would encourage growth through price stabilization. Some critics believe that some inflation is necessary to decrease real debt burdens and coax economies out of recessions.
