Williams, Tyco quit negotiations regarding merger
Article Abstract:
Merger negotiations between Williams PLC and Tyco International Ltd. ended unsuccessfully for the second time in nine months. Williams's share value declined as a result of the talks' collapse. Williams, a British-based fire and security group, blamed the failure of the talks on concerns over regulations and limited cost savings potential. Merger negotiations collapsed in November 1998 when both companies failed to reach an agreement on price.
