Article Abstract:
There is growing resentment in Thailand about the government's apparent indifference to the plight of the unemployed. The government has not yet offered public funds to assist the unemployed who have failed to gain compensation from their former employer. Indeed, the government has even failed to accurately establish how many people are out of work. Labour experts believe that the government is wrong to assume that assisting large companies in financial difficulties will automatically also assist workers.

Love vs. war
Article Abstract:
Hardliners in the Thai cabinet have urged Prime Minister, Thaksin Shinawatra to increase military presence in the strife torn southernmost provinces after clashes with Muslim militants, which left more than hundred youth dead in April 2004. Conflict in the region has scared investors who fear more violence as they feel the policies being followed run the risk of radicalizing the local Muslim populace.
