Worst of friends
Article Abstract:
There is a need for closer ties between South Korea and Japan. The South Korean government is seeking closer links, but the launch of a missile by North Korea over Japan has led to hostility toward Koreans in Japanese streets. South Korea remembers the role of Japan in the 1939-1945 war, and an open debate in Japan about its past would help to ease suspicions arising from the war. The economic problems of the two countries and other issues would be easier to tackle if they developed a closer relationship.

The western part of Newcastle, England, benefits from pleasant views, clear air, and proximity to the city center, yet there are many vacant homes, and prices of some real estate has dropped to $3,150 per home. The city has lost 10% of its population since 1971, and aims for population growth. Housing will be demolished, and new homes built, with efforts to prevent crime and improve education and health services as part of the wider effort at urban renewal.
