Worth its wait
Article Abstract:
Architect Marcus Lee designed and built his own home in London, England. The site originally contained a garage and had a long garden but no connected services. It now contains a two-storey, T-shaped, timber-framed home with a pitched roof, but the plan took many years to reach realization. The cut-away areas of the T-shape accommodate a decked suntrap area at the rear and a courtyard at the front. Lee has placed service and storage areas in the buttress walls so that the main living areas are flexible and clutter-free.

Keeping space in suspense: A house extension by Evans Vettori provides a quiet workspace with valuable storage, and enhances the garden
Article Abstract:
Architect Evans Vettori worked closely with landscape architect Jenny Coe to create a house extension which integrates the outdoors and indoors. The new extension consists of a wing extending from the living room, dividing the garden into a quiet court and a pergola-bordered private lawn. It was built using conventional domestic materials and is divided into a solid part and a light part, featuring a conservatory with glazed wall and roof. Internally it features a suspended storage gallery.
