Net ad revenues lower than expected
Article Abstract:
Internet advertising revenues is expected to reach C$37.7 million in 1999, or almost C$20 million short of a forecast made in a May 1998 survey of the industry, according to the Internet Advertising Bureau of Canada. The spring survey of Ernst and Young LLP had prompted the agency to predict that Internet revenues would total C$56.9 million in 1999. The revised prediction was due to key industry sectors and advertisers' failure to adopt Web advertising as aggressively as expected.
