Article Abstract:
Clearing I, 2004, the main installation in the show, designed by Antony Gormley, consists of 10 km of black painted aluminium square section that occupies the ground floor of the 1920s industrial building-turned-Hoxton Square gallery. The exhibition is a new, relaxed and powerful departure for Gormley and by far his best work to date.

Two practicing architects, involved in building the country side, present opposite views on the need of a country house tradition in the 21st century. Margaret Mac Kinder is for moving on to new building types while James Gorst is for extending the scope and ambition of the old projects to the new ones.
