South African Zulu tribal leaders Jacob Zuma, Frank Mdlalose and Mangosuthu Buthelezi were able to set aside their differences and hope their reconciliation will set an example for others. The three leaders hope to rejoin the constitutional negotiations and influence changes.

Zulu and Inkatha Freedom Party leader Mangosuthu Buthelezi is concerned that talks between Pres de Klerk and the African National Congress could leave his group at a disadvantage. The Zulus could plunge the nation into civil war if they feel they are being disenfranchised.
