Experts argued that opening up service sector and accelerated foreign service trade would turn China to an economic superpower country. Service sector includes traffic, transportation, telecommunication, finance, trade, education, scientific research, tourism, real estate, production service and daily life service. Opening up of services implies attracting foreign competitions, improving quality and reducing cost as result. On the same time, the Beijing government could set laws on industry and safety for guiding foreign companies activities in the mainland. *

Beijing will invest HK$56 bn on 5 large hydroelectric power plants by 2010. The plants include 1.5 mn kw Gongoxia Hydropower Station, the 3.72 mn kw Laxiwa Hydropower Station, the 5.4 mn kw Longtan Hydropower Station, the 4.2 kw Xiaowan Hydropower Station and the 1.5 mn kw Sanbanxi Hydropower Station. The State Development Planning Commission plans to inspire competitive among 5 stations and attract foreign funds for investments. The clean electricity generating method will share 24% of the nation's total power usage. *
