Shui On Construction and Materials is expected to have high turnover rate from a huge housing project in Tseung Kwan O Town Lot No.62 Area 65A. Under Private Sector Participation Scheme (PSPA), Shui On won a contact from Housing Authority (HA) for building 3,200 flats as well as a saleable area of 1.65 mn sq ft with prices at HK$1,523 per sq ft. The company explained that the labour and material costs have declined together with productivity improved in recently months which would earn a higher marginal profit. The company is seeking for residential projects along Tseung Kwan O MTR line and the West Rail. The company is bidding for contract in Kwun Tong, worth HK$2 bn. *

Sun Hung Kai Properties would prefer to build more small and medium-sized flats in Tak Yip Street in Yuen Long. A residential development of 9 buildings with 1,650 units will be built on the 331,200 sq ft site. Each building will comprise of 22 to 26 storeys. The original size of the flats were larger as the group had planned to build only 1,200 flats last December with a total gross floor area of 993,600. The move aims at attracting more first-time home buyers, home purchase loan and home starter loan scheme applicants. *
