A P-card ahead of the curve: Mercedes-Benz is helping its dealers retain good customers with a reverse P-card program
Article Abstract:
Mercedes-Benz of North America Inc has introduced a reverse purchase card that helps it retain more of its good customers while giving the company an added financial tool. The card is being handled by Paymentech and answers the needs of suppliers as the accounts recievables' side drives the card's demand instead of the payables side and is thus very effective in facilitating parts purchases. The card however, is only for companies with a sponsor willing to shoulder the initial costs and those with a loyal customer base of 40% to 90%.
