A critical assessment of task allocation methods and their applicability
Article Abstract:
Reviews of task allocation methods provided in the literature and those used in practice by system designers working on naval systems indicate the existence of 16 task allocation methods. Characteristics of a naval environment are chosen as a reference source for determining the requirements of task allocation methods in a naval Knowledge-Based System. A set of requirements for methods applicable to this system are specified, against which the applicability of the methods in the literature and those used in practice are evaluated.

Maximal manual stretcher carriage: Performance and recovery of male and female ambulance workers
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to determine the effects of a maximal duration stretcher carriage on heart rate, lactate concentration, hand steadiness and hand-grip strength for upto 72 hours post-exercise in military ambulance personnel. Results indicate that individuals with larger hand-grip strength and longer carriage durations showed the slowest strength recoveries as compared to one hour of recovery in participants with short transport durations.
