PT Eterindo Wahanatama, the Indonesian industrial chemicals and petroleum chemicals company, is owned by the Sridjaja family, which entered the chemical industry in 1982 through the acquisition of PT Eternal Buana Chemical Industries (ECBI). ECBI now dominates the Indonesian markets for alkyd/amino resins, emulsion latex, plasticizers and unsaturated polyester resins.

Although the credit rating process can be a long and potentially unsatisfactory one, Asian companies are realizing their necessity. Investors often rely on these ratings and, in many cases, are a requirement for any international capital market deal. The process and problems are presented.
