A longitudinal study of corporate social reporting in Singapore: the case of the banking, food and beverages and hotel industries
Article Abstract:
An analysis of corporate social reporting (CSR) in the banking, food and beverages and hotel industries in Singapore gives a valuable insight into CSR practices in less developed countries and into the impact of cultural and national factors on CSR practices. There are many foreign multinational concerns in Singapore, and raising the standard of CSR practices will require the formulation of clear guidelines by accounting professionals or by relevant public bodies. CSR is a way of ensuring that multinationals become responsible for the effect they have on society and on the environment.
