Samna+ is an excellent word processing program which also has mathematical and spreadsheet capabilities. It is easy to use, even directly from the screen, and the manual is unusually clear. It is used on a microcomputer, either on a floppy disk or hard disk system. There are a variety of keyboards available - American, European, British and Canadian and seven others. Editing is simple and it is possible to restore the original text if you change your mind. There is also a dictionary to check spelling. The layout is easy to work with and has useful variations depending on the needs of the user. Another good feature is an automatic merge facility for records management. Data can easily be filed and sorted. It is available, as a single-user system or for networked personal computers, from Samna International Ltd. in London.

Software companies increasingly are offering accounting packages with multicurrency facilities that can be used in the single European market of 1992. While software companies have been providing multicurrency and multiple-language facilities for packages targeting industrial users, many software companies have not included in their financial accounting software packages all the features that will be needed by accountants seeking to compete in the single European market. The imminent single European market of 1992 will open business opportunities for UK accounting firms, but many software companies have not developed multinational facilities for their products. The growth of the multinational markets necessitates that software suppliers develop pan-European services to be able to provide clients with adequate support.
