Adaptive decision support systems for evaluating risk and uncertainty in capital investment decisions: opportunities for future research
Article Abstract:
The impact of task, context and decision-maker factors on risk perception in capital investment decision-making are examined. The factors are considered in terms of a knowledge system for a capital budgeting decision support system (DSS). It is shown that an adaptive DSS integrated some components of decision maker, adaptive, problem domain and choice situation knowledge. The three factors outlined showed an interactive behavior that conditioned DSS design and even management accounting systems.

Using export-credit insurance to enhance the working capital requirements of the overseas customer: accomodating Mexican importers amidst the 1994-95 peso crisis
Article Abstract:
Export-credit insurance is used not only for foreign receivables, domestic financing and credit term competitiveness but also to assist foreign customers of exporters who are operating in countries undergoing financial difficulties. Exporters have proven that export-credit insurance improved the financial needs of Mexican importers during the depreciation of Mexican peso from 1994 to 1995. Usage of such insurance also lead to greater competency in facing high short-term domestic borrowing costs.

An analysis of world capital market return/risk ratios: a test of global financial integration during the 1980-1991 period
Article Abstract:
Developments in return/risk ratios between eight major national stock exchanges and a world index from 1980 to 1991 are investigated. There was no complete period integration or parity found between any of the eight markets. Nor was any found between each country's market and a derived world return/risk ratio. However, integration is revealed between the US and Canada during the period from 1986 to 1988.
