Canada to seek proposals for troubled subs
Article Abstract:
The Canadian navy is planning to issue a request for proposals from shipyards for two long-term contracts to maintain its troubled fleet of four diesel-powered submarines in 2006. Although two yards, Washington Marine Group in British Columbia and Irving Group in Halifax, Nova Scotia, which are already working on the Canadianization of the four formerly British Victoria-class submarines, have expressed an interest in the work.
