Additional guidance on ethical matters for members in business

Article Abstract:

A guidance draft prepared in collaboration with the member bodies of the Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies and based on proposed revisions to the Code of Ethics of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) is presented. The objective of the guidance is to provide ethical advice to members to assist them in discharging their professional obligations and considers the ethical conflicts that arise in business situation.

The Office for National Statistics has introduced a number of improvements to the methods it uses for measuring the economy so that the published measures of economic activity better represent the economic reality. Some of the changes implemented include incorporating annual data from business enquiries, introducing estimates of the impact of missing trader intra-community VAT fraud, and annual chain linking.
