The book Bill Bernbach never finished
Article Abstract:
Before his death in 1982, advertising executive Bill Bernbach (co-founder in 1949 of Doyle Dane Bernbach) was preparing a book based on his own work. The project was completed by colleague Bob Levenson and will be released this year as: Bill Bernbach's Book: a History of Advertising That Changed the History of Advertising. The article includes excerpts covering advertising campaigns for: Volkswagen, Chivas Regal, Levy's Jewish rye bread, El Al airlines, Jamaica tourism, Clairol hair products, Avis rental cars, American Airlines, and Ohrbach's department store.

International Executive Service Corps (I.E.S.C.) is a $15 million a year service that brings retired advertising executives into Third World countries to aid in their economic development. I.E.S.C. was founded in 1965, and since that time has completed 51 consulting projects, all with the volunteer help of 34 advertising executives. Volunteers serve for four months and are given all-expense paid accommodations for themselves and their spouses.
