After Olsen: Digital must get marketing religion, analysts say

Digital Equipment Corp (DEC) is diverging from its engineering-driven policy, espoused by retired founder Kenneth H. Olsen, to a marketing-oriented one. DEC posted a 1.85 billion loss for the fourth qtr of 1992. Newly appointed DEC CEO Robert B. Palmer wants to bring in more sales by giving incentives to motivate the employees. The company will also launch a new product line with Alpha or DEC's Reduced Instruction Set Computer chip which may help salvage the company.

Victor Millar expands service role at Unisys
