Agusta Westland to talk LUH with Army this month

European producer Agusta Westland offers the army the helo with the most growth potential and best value for its Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) program, in the US139, further discussions for which would be held on April 24, 2006. The twin-engine US139 is capable of flying one hundred sixty-five knots with a payload of 6,019 pounds and was designed from the beginning to replace the UH-1 Huey.

Lockheed gets $109 million rocket LRIP

Low-rate initial production (LRIP) of the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) for the US Army and Marine Corps gets a boost as Lockheed Martin lands a $109.1 million contract for its continued production. HIMARS, combat-proven in Operation Iraqi Freedom provides fire support for lighter, more mobile fighting forces and meets all the requirements of the Future Force System.
