Article Abstract:
Raytheon Missile Systems Co., is being awarded a $172,877,042 cost-plus-award-fee contract to provide for phase three engineering and manufacturing development in support of the Preplanned Product Improvement Program for the AIM-120 Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air-Missile (AMRAAM). This effort will include design, development, integration, and test of guidance in support of the AMRAAM. The work will be completed in January 2003. There was one company solicited and one proposal received. Solicitation began July 1998; negotiations were completed October 1998. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Air Armament Center, Eglin AFB, Fla., is the contracting activity (F08626-98/C-0027).

General Electric Corporate Research and Development, Schenectady, NY, is being awarded a $7,000,044 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to provide for basic, exploratory, and developmental research in the physical and engineering sciences in support of the Integrated High Performance Turbine Engine Technologies program. This was a Program Research and Development Announcement; there were 40 proposals received. Expected contract completion date is March 30, 2000. Solicitation issue date was Aug. 22, 1997. Negotiation completion date was Oct. 13, 1998. Air Force Research Laboratory, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, is the contracting activity (F33615-98-C-5215).
