Article Abstract:
General Electric Co., Cincinnati, Ohio was awarded on Dec. 22 a $44,091,400 face value increase to a cost-plus-award-fee contract to provide for CY1999 Component Improvement Program (CIP) for the F101/F110/F118/J79 General Electric engines. The CIP provides contractor engineering and test support to address service-related operational problems and to reduce engine operating and support costs. The contractor shall develop improvements in durability, reliability, and maintainability in support of the aforementioned engines. Less than 1% of this effort supports foreign military sales to Egypt. The work is expected to be completed Dec. 1999. At this time, $15,284,500 of the contract funds have been obligated. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright- Patterson AFB, Ohio, is the contracting activity (F33657-97/C-0016, P00015).

Lockheed Martin Integrated Systems, Orlando, Fla., is being awarded a $6,304,022 face value increase to a cost-plus-award-fee contract to provide for test and engineering services to integrate the Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile (JASSM) onto the B-2 aircraft. This effort supports the JASSM engineering and manufacturing development program. Expected contract completion date is May 2002. Air Armament Center, Eglin AFB, Fla., is the contracting activity (F08626-96-C-0002-P00040).
