Amino acid specificity of glycation and protein-AGE crosslilnking reactivities determined with a dipeptide SPOT library
Article Abstract:
Changes in protein conformation are caused by advanced glycation end products (AGEs), as well as loss of function and irreversible crosslinking. Using a library of dipeptides on cellulose membranes (SPOT library) an approach to systematically assay the relative reactivities of amino acid side chains and the N-terminal amino group to sugars and protein-AGEs were developed.

A fluorescent indicator for visualizing aAMP-induced phosphorylation in vivo
Article Abstract:
Researchers have developed a method for visualizing phosphorylation of proteins in living cells utilizing an innovative fluorescent indicator made up of two green fluorescent protein (GFP) variants connected by the kinase-inducible domain (KID) of the transcription factor cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP)-responsive element binding protein (CREB).
