An ACA flies the flag in America
Article Abstract:
Differences between American and British accountants include differences between generally accepted accounting principles and in the training of accountants. In the U.S., one may not qualify as a certified public accountant until one graduates from college; salaries for American trainee (post-college) accountants are much better than those of their British counterparts and they are recognized as members of a professional group. Thus, they have more time to devote to their careers. However, the American system has the disadvantages of much higher pressure and Americans have not yet adopted the European system of trading some of the economic rewards for more leisure time.
